 | Toddler-Hey We're the International Sweethearts of Rhythm 7 inch $3 Listen | Features members of Gerty Ferish and Magnetic Fields and well as a New York Times best selling author on drums. | Mewlip-Only If You Ask Nicely 7 inch $3 Listen | This is the story of a 16 year old kid trapped in a house in rural upstate New York. That kid decided he would record a bunch of his music onto a Karoake machine that could "multitrack" and send it to this guy he kinda knew in Boston who was from upstate New York too - because he saw that guy's band Fat Day play. Wham! Instant gold! Filled with weirdo space jams and spoken word over feedback musings on high school shittery - completely real and raw and unencumbered by concepts of "how things are supposed to be done". If this doesn't make you understand that it used to be difficult to get your freak on and get the word out then nothing will. One isolated boy reached out and did it and we are glad he did. So amazing. |
|
|---|
 | Betty Please-For Sport and Healthy 7 inch $3 Listen | Second release from this slacker pop band based out of Cambridge. Filled with great guitar hooks and catchy choruses - but remaining a little dark and brooding - in their signature style of mannered pop laden with guilt and regret. |
|
|---|
 | Trollin Withdrawal/Fat Day flexi 7 inch $3 Listen | Very rare flexi from the fanzine Coal - a short lived Cambridge based zine. The first issue came in a plastic bag actually filled with coal dust which was very messy, and which you will not receive. Chimpy, charming and real. Guy from Trollin Withdrawal is now in Lavender Diamond. Good sense of the DIY music world in Boston circa the early 90's. |
