John Lee Hooker's flashy, sleazy cousin who played echoey & wah-covered slide all over Chicago. Hooker began as a Memphis studio musician, backing Ike Turner for a while & sitting in with plenty of well known blues stars. Bouts of stuttering & tuberculosis prevented extensive touring or singing, but Hooker liked gold chains, guitars with extra necks (complete with mailbox peel-n-stick letters spelling his name), & using tape-delay to overdub with himself. Here he sits in with a fairly large ensemble of piano, organ, drums, harmonica, & a couple of guest vocalists. Tracklisting: Anna Lee, Off the Hook, Love Ain't a Plaything, You Don't Want Me, Two Bugs and a Roach, Wah Wah Blues, You Don't Love Me, Earl Hooker Blues.
