Now here's one of the reasons they call 'em real people. Aspiring country demo writer Higney, possessed of a spectacular unmelodicism already demonstrated on his classic 'Attic Demonstration', visits New York City. In a cataclysm of social boomeranging, the Hig happens to catch Johnny Thunders as the opening act of a Mott the Hoople concert & is blown away. He goes back to see Thunders many times & is eventually inspired to write a song about his wish to imitate his new hero, as well as a funk tune that Higney says was meant for Grace Jones! Almost-punk guitars plus weird vocal overdubs, and yet Higney's singular sense of intonation remains completely untouched. What a headhurter. Tracklisting: Funky Kinky, I Wanna Be the King.
