Boisterous & simple hard rock that's loud & has lots of distorted organ slams. Issued by the same label as the Purple Fox (who covered Hendrix), this project was performed by a very broke Thin Lizzy under a pseudonym. Phil Lynott is only playing bass, because he thought his impression of Ian Gillan wasn't so hot. So the band instead got a singer & keyboard player from another Irish band named Elmer Fudd to join in. The band got $1000 for their work, which isn't much, but in 1972 dollars probably bought them all a month of rent & food. Five Purple covers, a version of 'Danny Boy' & 'House of the Rising Sun', plus two more instrumentals they made up on the spot. Couple of the guitar solos are genuinely menacing & they very nearly turn 'Hush' into a boogie tune. Tracklisting: Fireball, Dan, Black Knight, Palamatoon, Strange Kind of Woman, Hush, Rising Sun, Speed King, Corina.
