I've always thought that one of the best things about the MC5 (and many other spectacular bands) is that their just-overdo-everything approach shouldn't really work- but does anyway. These hard proggers that split their time between upstate NY & Indiana are a good lesson in what can go wrong. Lots of great pumping organ & retarded, rushed over-drumming. All the songs bleed into each other & they have a real debt to Deep Purple & early Yes.
