Kheli bahali, baby. Iranian 70s pop baritone singer (along the lines of recent collector darlings Googoosh or Kourosh Yaghmaie) who specialized in playing the sitar. His hippest album, an all instrumental one clearly meant for play in Tehran's western style nightclubs. It sports soul-fried horn arrangements and chipped electric funk guitar that have in no way lost their ability to get people out there shaking under the colored lights, not to mention some bouncy sitar that would make any cheesy listening fan drool upon contact. Not all that far from the world of Big Jim Sullivan or Lord Sitar, and yet undeniably Persian. Tracklisting: African Jumbo, African Jumbo, Tribe of Lili.
