A tone so biting you could cut yourself on it, an utterly economical use of notes and yet his phrasing is always fluid. Green's early recordings are one of those very rare musical spots that can please the most distemperous aesthetes as easily as tottering grandmas. Somehow unreleased until 18 years after it was recorded. Green used to use an amp with an EQ built in so he could pump just the frequency of his guitar, pushing the midrange of his tone even further.
