Gritty & right-on Florida funk that's been cropping up on Soul Jazz & Numero Group reissues in the last few years. Almost no info about Mr. Knight out there, but the guy coulda been the black Kim Fowley from the sound of it. Sly Stone/Hendrix influence in the form of wickedly fuzzy guitar. Horn lines are tight, & the vocals range from hepcat ghetto commentary to soul ballad singing that runs haywire across the chart staves. There's even a couple of over the top wails that would be at home on a metal record. Tracklisting: Funky Cat, Uncle Joe, Flyin High, Cotton Cat, Fantasy World, I Love You, Save Me, Just My Love For You.
