Higgins was one of the founders of Fluxus along with George Macuinas. Invited to participate in a late 60s show at a college with 'guns' as the theme, Higgins suggested a piece of music interpreted from staff paper that had been machine gunned full of holes. The college duly hired a local policeman to take some staff paper out to a range & shoot it up, and then a few volunteers performed the piece. Unfortunately most of the documentation of that original concert has been lost. Philip Corner got hold of some of the pages in 2004 and staged the 2nd ever performance. Takes a while to get going, but after a bit of peppering the ensemble does indeed get to a big busting hole. Tracklisting: Symphony No 163 Winter Solstice Symphony for Geoff Hendricks, Symphony No 343 Ad Honorem Philippi A Salsa Symphony, Symphony No 357, Symphony No 342 in 4 Movements, Symphony No 609 The Divers.
