Signed to King after they lost James Brown, as his replacement/knockoff. And Murray nails Brown's singing style perfectly, with just a pinch of sly Georgia worrying of his phrases. Fantastic songwriting throughout that was clearly supposed to be contemporary, but failed to walk the fine line between hep enough for the hep but polite enough for the squares. Lyrics advocate the pleasures of fat girlfriends, tell you that the population explosion is causing a gas crisis, and propose solving America's racial tensions by getting everyone to have sex & bear multiracial babies. Tracklisting: Fat Gal, Try a Little Harder, Ace of Spades, Going Back to Alabama, I Wanna See My Baby, Money, People Are Together, The Buzzard, Explosive Population, Fever, I Found Out, I Don't Know Why.
