Bossa's answer to Sarah Vaughan, with an exacting intonation, control over vocal color & intricate sense of rhythm. As a child she trained to be a classical pianist, but gave it up for singing because of a music school audition. She liked improvising new melodic lines over standards, a la Ella Fitzgerald, which she applied singing in Rio's Beco das Garrafas- the dead end street cluttered with jazz clubs much like NYC's 52nd Street. An obscure title made during a short period that she lived in Mexico (before moving to the US). Tracklisting: Sarava, Canto de Chegar, Na Baixa do Sapateiro, Saudades da Bahia, Estamos Ai, Noite do Meu Bem, Aruanda, Feio Nao e Bonito, Exaltacao a Mangueira, O Pato, Samba da Mimha Terra, So Danco Samba, Capoeira de Oxala, E de Manha, Menino das Laranjas, Sarava.
