Sally Timms from the Mekons was chatting about the made-up language she'd had as a kid, & someone suggested she sing a Cathy Berberian-style opera in it. Instruments lying in bedrooms were duly hauled out along with a 4-track and this extremely backasswards record was born. Vocals cut in & out at odd times, get overdubbed on top of themselves like a freeway pileup, and hang around intervals that would make even Dagmar Krause uncomfortable. All the while some keyless distorted synth & a big pounding tom drum swing after foul balls in the background. Released on Pete Shelley's (Buzzcocks) DIY/vanity label.
