Jack Nicholson, just before 'Easy Rider', in a biker flick that had Laszlo Kovaks as cinematographer. There's a classic biker fuzz theme that gives nod to Davie Allan, but then Stu Phillips takes things into his own prismatic territory. Phillips of course made oodles of great soundtracks: 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls', 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Ride the Wild Surf', 'Knight Rider', & so on. Orchestrated sitar interludes & loads of happily bopping male background vocals make a plush, resplendent counterpoint to the many shots of California concrete & guys with unwashed hair. Chuck Sedacca, a shortlived member of the Ventures, helps out with the guitar wanking. Tracklisting: Hells Angels on Wheels, Flowers, Bike Ballet, Skip to My Mary J, Study in Motion 1, Tea Party, Post, Sunday Art & Football, Poet Scores, Four Five Sex.
