Crass' politics/lyrics sometimes overshadow their sound, but if you need a place to justify what they can do musically, this is a fine spot. Steve Ignorant can snarl every bit as heedlessly as Sid Vicious. The bass player is clearly listening to a shitload of reggae. And although there's a high quotient of militaristic drum rolls, when Joy de Vivre steps up to the mic to make some z-grade pun about Margaret Thatcher, she's as fierce as anything on a Slits record. Tracklisting: Mother Earth, White Punks on Hope, You've Got Big Hands, Darling, System, Big Man Big MAN, Hurry Up Garry, Fun Going On, Crutch of Society, Heard Too Much About, Chairman of the Bored, Tired, Walls, Upright Citizen, The Gasman Cometh, Demoncrats, Contaminational Power, Time Out, I Ain't Thick It's Just a Trick, Prime Sinister, System, Big Man Big MAN, Banned From the Roxy, Hurry Up Garry, Time Out, They've Got a Bomb, Fight War Not Wars, Women, Shaved Women, You Pay, Heard Too Much About, Angels, What a Shame, So What, G's Song, Do They Owe Us a Living, Punk Is Dead.
