Career overview through outtakes & oddities. Daevid Allen is one of those spaceshot guys- and everybody knows one- who's sweet but likely to lose his own shoes or show up for a court date a month late. Having been forced to leave the Soft Machine because he lost his passport, he simply started a new band in France. Couple of years later he had to escape across the French border, for having incited a bunch of students to riot against the cops. He once got stage fright and ran away in a taxicab. And he forgot to give his own wife maternity leave when she had their first kid. On the other hand, the swiss cheese approach to life means that Allen's career is littered with constantly changing musical situations, and many of the genuinely interesting ones didn't end up getting a proper release. Lots of good crumbs are here. Tracklisting: Concert Intro, Captain Shaw & Mr. Gilbert, Love Makes Sweet Music, Riot 1968, Dreaming It, I Feel So Lazy, And I Tried So Hard, Radio Gnome Pre Mix, Pot Head Pixies, Magic Brother, Line Up, Clarence in Wonderland, Where Have All the Hours Gone, Gong Poem, Deya Goddess, Opium for the People, Red Alert, 13/8, Gliss U Well, Future, The Dream, Chernobly Rain, Let Me Be One.
