Wispy pokes of shakuhachi, wood blocks, harp, electronics, and even dancers (whose feet thump now & then). Maki Ishii has a brother Kan who is also a classical composer (a little more traditional), and their father was a ballet dancer. Maki went to Darmstadt summer school just out of college and was impressed enough to end up splitting his time between Japan & Germany for the rest of his life. One of the best moments of the record is a tiny spot during 'Music for Living Process' where the shakuhachi plays the same notes as the melody from 'Theme from the Godfather'. Hard to say whether it's accidental or not, as the song would have been about a year old in 1973, and as Mr. Yoko Ono, Ichiyanagi could have been playing a little Fluxus joke. It doesn't fit the rest of his musical personality though. Also, as with all of the Edition RZ lps, the whole thing is super quiet. Tracklisting: Music for Living Process, Cho Etsu.
