Dhrupad is usually a vocalist & tanpura, and it's an expliticly meditative form that was more common between the 12th & 16th centuries, overtaken by Khyal starting in the 1700s. Here, this type of raga is played on the Vichitra Veena, a slightly unusual fretless instrument with a lighter tone than a sitar. It's played with a slide in the shape of a glass ball. Sounds like Krishan took the strings out of a harpsichord & is using them to weave a basket. Tracklisting: Khyal Raga Mangal Bhairav, Dhrupad Raga Tilak Kamod, Thumri Raga Bhairavi.
