Spacious, translucent production with quiet small string arrangements deep in the velvety background. Fascinating arrangements suddenly throw in mexicali trumpets (like Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire') or flange guitar. All those now-baroque, now-country, now-power-pop moves make 'em the UK answer to the Merry Go Round. Honeybus got started in '67 & looked good to hit America with an early chart run on 'I Can't Let Maggie Go', but they were deflated suddenly when half of their songwriting team (Pete Dello by name) quit out of nowhere.
