Best description I've heard of this record (from a guy who was supposed to play with Detroit in the mid-80s, except Detroit didn't show up) is that it sounds like Marc Bolan doing a shitty cover of 'Tequila'. Doubletracked lead vocals & lots of femme backups, bongo beats, acoustic guitars, mystical nonsense, and an amusing version of 'What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor'. Phoenix folks like James Verlaine (Paris 1942), Dan & Mary Clark (Victory Acres), & Alan Bishop & Charlie Gocher (Sun City Girls) make up the backing band. Tracklisting: Beelzeebub, Immortal Gods, Mephisto Cigars, The Vampire, Talkin to My Cat, Evil Dark Face, Run to the Sun, I Am Pazuzu, Mephisto Cigars.
