Here's a little cdr of a great Michael Snow lp. You might remember Snow as the filmmaker of 'New York Eye and Ear Control' or as a performer on Steve Reich's 'Pendulum Music'. He also made a few very famous experimental films. Best known one is 'Wavelength' (a slow zoom around the inside of an apartment). He also built a tasteful flying goose sculpture inside Eaton Centre in Toronto. Snow's decidedly Canadian in temperament & his sound work after the end of the 70s is often pastoral. This record is a really fun experiment in fake 'primitive' or ethno music, which Snow thinks may or may not have something to do with the end of the vinyl lp (which in looked quite imminent in '87). There's some cookie-monster type impressions of ooga-booga chants here, drones, crackling fire, a short spat of chipmunk voices... In short, everything you could ask for.
