South London band Second Hand, after they'd lost their guitarist Bob Gibbons (whose Dad died suddenly, forcing him to give up music). The dark conceptual pop/rock of their 'Reality' album thus gave way quickly to instros infused with Cream-ish solos & drum runs, but a fair amount of Soft Machine chords strewn around the background too. Long cut of organ munch halfway through is totally slammin & would be perfect for a little bout of faux-Hendrix karaoke (next time you're stuck home on a Saturday night). One of the more un-arty, rocker-ready records on the NWW list. 4 bonus tracks. Trackisting: Introduction by Brain Surgeons From the Royal Free Hospital, Brain Strain, Land of a Thousand Dreams, Too Many Bananas, Yes We Have No Pajamas, The Lone Commuter, Three Blind Mice, Celebration, This Is Not Romance.
