Private press folk rarity. A blind, tempestuous young man from the Pacific Northwest doesn't fit in, & then upon leaving high school dives deep into Christianity. He plays in a few local gospel bands, and they fizzle away. On a whim one day early into his first marriage, he buys a new guitar & and makes a 6-string-masquerading-as-12-string acoustic record, recorded all in one take. Desper insists these days that he wasn't depressed or desperate, and was trying to write for lost folks like the guy he'd recently been. Nevertheless, the insistent, pealing minor lines that run through songs like 'Darkness Is Like a Shadow', 'It's Too Late', 'Lonely Man', etc., reveal a storm of emotions. Tracklisting: Darkness Is Like a Shadow, It's Too Late, Lonely Man, To a Friend of Mine, Let It Shine For You, Don't You Cry For Me, Liberty, Time Is Almost Over, Dry Up Those Tears, The World is Crying Out for Love.
