You know all those nice things people say about middle-period Brian Eno? It's all really true, except that they're applying the idea to the wrong guy. The real purveyor of mystic changeling hypno-ambience is the beautifully cheekboned John Roland Redd, aka Korla Pandit. Klaus Landsberg (the inventor of Liberace & early tv mogul) discovered Pandit in a restaurant & hired him to wear a turban, play whatever he wanted in front of some heavy drapes, and stare longingly & silently into a tv camera while doing so. With a daily showing of his mysterious smile on Hollywood's local tv station, & his trademark piano on the left & organ on the right, Korla was soon the subject of housewife fantasies everywhere. Tracklisting: Magnetic Theme, Kumar, Kartikeya, Aicha's Theme, Ode to a Desert Love, The Hypnotist, Procession of the Grand Moghul, Theme of the Meta-Logy, Trance Dance, Omar, The Turkish Dance, The Banjello, Clare de Lune, Stormy Weather, Over the Rainbow, Trance Dance, Theme From Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony, Aicha's Dance, Beyond the Sunset.
