Midwest reverbed garage that morphed into Byrdsy folk with quiet touches of organ & sitar. They toured heavily around Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, etc. playing top 40 teen & Brit invasion hits of the day. Guitarist Val Stecklein (who had an acid-triggered nervous breakdown & quit the group but went on to put an 'o' in his name & release a moody solo folk album) wrote most of their originals. The band's peak (and the peak of Midwest 60s psych in general) is considered to be the song 'The Orange Rooftop of Your Mind'. Missing from here, naturally, but you can catch their earliest trashy roots. Tracklisting: Punkin Doodle, Ain't That Lovin You Baby, Ps & Qs, Love's Made a Fool of You, Silver & Gold, La Do Da Da, Just Two Days Ago, Mary Lou, Your Turn to Cry, Pretty Things Oh, Baby My Heart, Ain't That Lovin You Baby, Pennies, Since You Broke My Heart, So You Say, Silver and Gold, Nancy Whiskey, Desert Wind, Just Two Days Ago.
