The Everlys could do no right in the eyes of their contemporaries back in '61. Their manager/publisher Wesley Rose thought they had no right to record songs outside of his house & left them in a tiff. Their producer at Cadence (Archie Bleyer, of 'Hernando's Hideaway'), who'd guided them through pop stardom, lost his faith & complained when they ran out of material after recording for 5 straight days. Suddenly caught between the teenybopper & adult markets they'd always managed to reach in tandem, the record became their first big flop. It took years before anyone noticed the delicately embroidered arrangements for 'Muskrat' or 'Don't Blame Me'. Tracklisting: My Mammy, Muskrat, My Gal Sal, Grandfather's Clock, Bully of the Town, Chloe, Mention My Name in Sheboygan, Hi Lili Hi Lo, The Wayward Wind, Don't Blame Me, Now Is the Hour, Little Old Lady, When I Grow Too Old to Dream, Love Is Where You Find It.
