Sheesh- Shannon had so much talent it was practically falling off his lapels- he could sing anything, led a band that favored distorted guitar & wiggy keyboards, wrote all of his own songs, ran his own label, experimented with his own production style- all things which were usually assigned to whole teams of people. And his falsetto? The Four Seasons have one to go around for guys, but Shannon has about ten different ones inside just one neck. These singles are from about 3 years after 'Runaway', after he'd left his management company & was producing everything himself. Sophisticated songs like 'I Go To Pieces' could have sat nicely on a 65 (or even a 67!) Beach Boys album. But there are also endearing tongue-in-cheek songs like 'Torture'. Tracklisting: Move It On Over, I Can't Believe My Ears, Do You Wanna Dance, That's the Way Love Is, Keep Searchin, I Wish I Wasn't Me Tonight, Mary Jane, Break Up, Stranger In Town, Broken Promises, Why Don't You Tell Him, Handy Man, Over You, She Still Remembers Tony, I Go To Pieces, Torture.
