High school funk band that won a soda pop contest to submit a new jingle, and was rewarded with financing to record an album. The kids got their coach to help them out with all the sudden attention, & although he made some unusually invasive decisions (getting the drummer to play organ, adding himself as a vocalist), it actually seems to've benefitted the album in the end. About half originals & half covers, many of which were worked up in mere hours before the tape rolled. Several delicate, ultra-slow after-hours smokers on this one, which is pretty atypical for hormone-drenched teens.
