Arriving in 67, David Cain was one of the last people to join the BBC's sound effects team before they switched from musique concrete & oscillators to pre-built synthesizers. This record was meant to introduce schoolkids to poetry and the calendar, allowing little ones to pretend to be growing flowers and older ones to just snicker over a stodgy older man intoning lines about the month of May having sex with the wind. Ticktocking buzzes and blorps that tickle the ear in direct disregard of some Thoreau/TS Eliot style solemnity.
