Neato whitey harmonies that sound like square Los Angeles jingles, but were actually studio musicians in thin ties (who didn't want to tour) from the UK. Their biggest hit was 'Let's Go to San Francisco', which they laughably insisted to be a completely different song from Scott McKenzie's 'San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)'. Songwriting team John Carter and Ken Lewis are most notable for being in the Ivy League (& therefore composing the original version of Sagittarius' softpop masterpiece 'My World Fell Down'). The cotton-soft falsetto belongs to Tony Burrows, who is sortof the UK's answer to bubblegum demo singer Joey Levine. Burrows sings lead on Edison Lighthouse's 'Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)', White Plains' 'My Baby Loves Lovin', The Pipkins 'Gimme Dat Ding', The First Class 'Beach Baby' and The Brotherhood of Man's 'United We Stand'. Tons of fluffy Byrds-knock off, some fake Beach Boys, and even a touch of pre-Sweet as you hit the last few tracks. Tracklisting: Let's Go To San Francisco, Mythological Sunday, Say Goodbye to Yesterday, Radio One Jingle #1, Midsummer Dreaming, Mr. Light, Blow Away, A Walk in the Sky, The Cooks of Cake and Kindness, Radio One Jingle #2, The Laughing Man, A Night To Be Remembered, Children of Tomorrow, Let's Go Back to San Francisco.
