Excellent sci-fi psych & bubblegum sheen. Producer Bob Crewe had several charting acts running around at the time this was made: the Four Seasons, Mitch Ryder, & the Bob Crewe Generation ('Music to Watch Girls By') among them. When he got the job to do the score here, he enlisted Charles Fox (who studied electronic music & then went on to write the themes for The Love Boat, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, The Bugaloos, Love American Style, 9 to 5 etc,). Crewe also planned the launch of a Monkees style group named 'Glitterhouse' (who were real & whom he saw play at a book release party). He kept the band in secret rehearsal for about a year, but when the single didn't hit he let them go instead. Champagne froth that makes the idea of Jane Fonda as a Brigitte-Bardot-ultrafeminist seem very, very funny. Tracklisting: Barbarella, Goodnight Alfie, Spaceship Out of Control, Ski Ride, The Hungry Dolls, Love Love Love Drags Me Down, Pygar Finds Barbarella, I Love All the Love In You, The Labyrinth, Pygar's New Wings, Fight In Flight, Entrance into Sogo, Hello Pretty Pretty, Pygar's Persecution, The Black Queen's Beads, Dead Duck, The Pill, Smoke, The Sex Machine, The Chamber of Dreams, The Destruction of Sogo, An Angel Is Love
