What a gas! Who among you could guess that inside Chubby Checker was an outsider artist just waiting to pop out and *really* do the twist? Jimi Hendrix' life & death seems to have lit a fire deep in the heart of ol' Chubby. Though living in Holland, he became convinced that Jimi was one of his closest friends & wrote several songs in his honor. A few of the songs are attempts at political protest. There's some totally writhing fake Hendrix guitar work here as well. And yes, songs like 'Stoned in the Bathroom' & 'He Died' are every bit as strange as their titles promise. Way, way gone, that's for sure.
