Fine & raw heavy psych with completely drugged out lyrics written by Steve Farmer & the inimitable Ted Nugent. Recorded amidst a whirlwind of lineup changes, many of them due to Nuge's commandeering of the band & then firing everyone who, lyrics notwithstanding, struck him as a wee bit too pro-drug for real life. At this point in time, the Nuge was an ambitious but interesting guitar player who was excessively hairy & liked jumping on top of things (moving cars, battle of the band judge tables, speaker cabinets, etc.). After his raging tours & hits of the late 70s, he quickly turned into a conservative caricature with a remarkable talent for being simultaneously entertaining & vile. The epicene of this celebrity was perhaps in 2004, when Nugent was rewarded for entertaining US troops with a visit to Saddam Hussein's war room. Nugent commented, "It was a glorious moment. It looked like something out of 'Star Wars'. I saw his gold toilet. I shit in his bidet... Our failure has been not to Nagasaki them." Nugent continues to bait almost anybody who isn't dressed in camoflauge & recently hosted the 137th Annual NRA 'Family Party'. Tracklisting: Mississippi Murderer, Surrender to Your Kings, Flight of the Byrd, Scottish Tea, Dr. Slingshot, Journey to the Center of the Mind, Ivory Castles, Why Is a Carrot More Orange Than an Orange, Missionary Mary, Death Is Life, Saint Philips Friend, I'll Prove I'm Right, Conclusion.
