Hollywood session musicians assembled by Rosie Greer's college roommate Michael Viner, who was desperately trying to break into the music hustling world & whose previous claim to fame was getting Sammy Davis to record 'Candyman'. But when Rosie ended up doing the movie 'The Thing With Two Heads', he got Viner the soundtrack, & the hit 'Bongo Rock' (a Preston Epps cover) was born. The success spurred cheesy brass & keyboard funk, & the long drum solos later meant that the albums were sampled heavily by everybody from the Sugarhill Gang to Missy Elliot. Tracklisting: Let There Be Drums, Apache, Bongolia, Last Bongo in Belgium, Dueling Bongos, In a Gadda Da Vida, Raunchy 73, Bongo Rock.
