Early 60s country doesn't usually mix in with badass riffage and effects pedals, but Pete Drake's steel guitar isn't like anybody else's. Drake was a Nashville studio musician who liked tinkering in his off hours, and ended up making huge contributions to the invention/use of the vocoder. These cuts under his own name were originally on Starday & show off how unique a performer he really was.
