Set just a tad later than his 'Fire in my Bones' collection, this 2nd set of gospel put together my Mike McGonigal (Yeti) gives you more tough soul shouting than blues bash-outs. Nabbed from tiny private press/self released 45s, mostly by rural bands who were pretty insulated from the fashions of the day. They get in some foxy electric organ or wah guitar once in a while, but you can more easily hear traditions 40 (or even 70) years older than the release dates.
