Succulent, sugary, lavish French 60s pop. Not quite ye-ye, but a bit later once dirty Serge & wanton Jacques have had their way with the filles of Paris. Vocal harmonies ring through the entire set. Some nips from American sunshine pop & jingle singers, but as fans trade their pop art polka dots for unwashed fringe there's also haunting femme psychedelia. Michel Colombier & Claude Bolling & Dutronc's backing band crop up briefly, but mostly these are unknown folks who barely oomphed out a couple of singles. Equals the high bar set by volumes 2 & 3 of this series (which, for whatever reason, came out several months ago & were both dedicated to Cambodian 60s records). Tracklisting: Le Coeur-Bye Bye City, Les Rover-Dans Cinquante Ans D'ici, Les Hamsters-Flower Power, Les Chimeriennes-Monsieur Cyber, Yar & Yana-Je Marche Dans La Ville, Les Hamsters-Georgie Girl, Dan le Bouffon-A Petit Pas, Christopher Laird-Lune de Miel Lune de Confiture, Les Parisiennes-Un Rayon de Soleil en Ciel, Michel Pagliaro-Vous, L'Empreinte-Une Petite Fille, Pax Quartet-Lumiere et Paix, France-Vivre D'amour et de Musique, Cristal-Les Yeux Fermes, Epta-Bye Bye Brighton, Bernard Chabert-Il Part en Californie, Les Rotomagus-Nevada, Le Systeme Crapoutchik-La Vie est Belle.
