Here's a long-in-the-making record by my improv trio where everybody plays game calls (the little plastic toys that hunters use to make animals come close enough to shoot). Steve Norton & Josh Jefferson are flat-out astonishing players who both make horrific scatalogical noises on a variety of odd reed instruments, including baritone sax, bass clarinet, etc. They're both super quick, and I spend most of my time in the band just trying to keep up with them. Lots of hook-and-eye structures and, at least on my part, attempts to rip off Mauricio Kagel's 'Exotica'. Mostly recorded in the tiny secret dungeon underneath Weirdo, and paid for with the bits & donations we got from playing basements, living rooms, & neglected public buildings around Boston over the last few years. Tracklisting: How to Call Ducks, Michael and Brad Go To the Brattle, Cough Your Way Out of That One, Continuous G Snotnose, The Ideal Movements of the Criminal the Diseased and the Cripple, H.A.P.P.Y., A Man Jumps From the Passenger Platform, Double Demand, The Problem Begins When One Forgets the Artificiality of It All, ()()(()()(())()()((())())()()(())(, Retro A-1 Wins, Yo Vivia en las Montanas (for Lexie).
