Bruce Haack's entire discography is full of imaginative inventions, intensely bloopy sounds, & rather sweet & gentle head-trip concepts. 'Haackula', may've been appropriated by techno fans, but it's no exception to the rule, & sounds just as poppy & trippy & fuzzy & noisy as anything from 'The Electric Lucifer'. Haack's style of gooey-textured counterpoint & square-on robot rhythm actually meshes rather well with the goals of Whodini-style vocoder rap. But Haack couldn't be a ghetto badass if he tried, & so retains his childlike nerd-out vibe even through swears & lines like "Haack Attack Is Back/Bruce Haack: Anti-Whack". 2 bonus tracks, including Haack's improbable-but-real Def Jam-related 12 inch & a soundtrack from 1979. Tracklisting: Lie Back, Blow Job, Man Kind, Play Me Your Album, Invocation, Death Machine, Sun Suko, Tit for Tat, Haackula, Party Machine, Icarus.
