Aka 'Eternal Now'. Cherry's playing post-1970 or so is about demonstrating that group improvisation doesn't have to be the Ayler/Brotzmann firestorm of energy, but can be delicate. He's fascinated by the variety of textures found in folk instruments from around the world, & usually sets up a tinkling bed of black stars (sorta like Alice Coltrane without the goof factor), which can then be easily tossed aside for a solo or two. Gamelan, harmonium, and a bunch of Swedish guys help out. Tracklisting: Gamla Stan the Old Town by Night, Love Train, Bass Figure for Ballatune, Moving Pictures for the Ear.
