Discs one & two of this set get my vote as the best document of Jandek live. The fun but completely normal racket that would be kicked up if a bunch of indie dudes did this same type of improv transcends instead into eternal stillness, floating away with the high energy from Corwood's rep. The guitar is electric/acoustic during set one & fretless electric on set two, & the variety of song styles (some very bluesy moves, only a few blasters, some haltingly funny ones espesh during set 2) is quite wide. Note that standard but less than perfectly executed tuning too, which I think affords an interesting highlight into the Corwood process. The recording is also surprisingly un-echoey, as the whole show took place inside an abandoned silo, & therefore in a room shaped like a tuna can. I think my fave is 'I Love You': a startlingly and self-consciously naked song even as Jandek songs go. That's a helluva thing to be performing in front of a bunch of Brooklyn hipsters- a real look at the face of Medusa. Matt Heyner (double bass) & Chris Corsano (drums). Tracklisting: Put Me There, Destroy the Day, Obscure Physics, Structure of Words, All I Want, Lonely World, Change My Brain, I'll Send a Thought Out Floating, I Love You, How'R You, City Pounding Down, Different Blues, My Necessity, Sea of People, Sorry Sorry, Tequila Girl, Just Enough.
