Perry was a French med student when he met George Jenny & decided to travel around demonstrating Jenny's ondioline in the early 50s. But it was Perrey's genius alone that led him to want to use the apparatus to make danceable cocktail tunes rather than abstract planes of art music. By 1970, he'd been longtime friends with Bob Moog & spent endless hours painstakingly splicing & chopping up tape pieces in order to turn them into bouncy, blooping pop songs & jingles. His expertise is brought to full bear on this snappy set. You'll find bursts of funk backbeats, and a sheer mechanical joy unmatched by his contemporaries. Don't let the 70s look of the cover or titles like 'Hello Dolly' dissuade, and your toes will thank you when they start tapping. Tracklisting: Soul City, EVA, The Rose and the Cross, Cat in the Night, Flight of the Bumblebee, Moog Indigo, Gossipo Perpetuo, Country Rock Polka, The Elephant Never Forgets, 18th Century Puppet, Hello Dolly, Passport to the Future.
