This one's been promised to come out for awhile in some form or another. Glad to finally see it. Besides this record, Charlie is known for constructing oversized guitars (named Dingulators) out of metal that's been cut from old cars. After his wife died suddenly in 1965, he moved from Jersey to the west coast, landing in San Fran in time to put a record out on Fahey's Tokoma label. Although Chaz did perform on his dingulators regularly, here, along with a moment or two of gong & acoustic tapping, he's just blowing. His soprano's tone reminds of Steve Lacy, except that were Lacy is exacting, Chaz is blissfully blotto. Upon finishing the record, he moved to an organic farm, & performed irregularly until the mid 80s, at which point he became a beekeeper & started self-publishing books. Tracklisting: The Psychedelic Saxophone of Charlie Nothing, In Eternity With Brother Frederic.
