Aka 'A Child's Guide to Good and Evil'. By this time Bob Markley was controlling the output of the band (because he had all the money) & Michael Lloyd & the Harris brothers were starting to chafe at his slightly unmusical contributions. As it's '68, the band is getting looser & looser, incorporating jazz moves & far flung solos, and there's even a track of conceptual silence for 'Anniversary of World War III'. Markley's lyrics are also becoming more overtly obsessed with class war revolution & teenage girls. His interest in them (the girls, not the war) eventually led to an arrest, getting beat up by a Detroit gang, becoming a homeless beach hermit. He even ended up in the hospital as a vegetable after sleeping in a rowboat which drifted out to sea for a couple of days. Tracklisting: A Child of a Few Hours Is Burning To Death, A Child's Guide to Good and Evil, Ritual #1, Ritual #2, Anniversary of World War III, Watch Yourself, Eighteen Is Over the Hill, Until the Poorest of People Have Money to Spend, In the Country, As Kind as Summer, As the World Rises and Falls, Our Drummer Always Plays in the Nude.
