Mako was an obsessive nutcase who started writing music while still in elementary school. During Junior High, he went through a bout of thinking that someone on the 3rd floor of a local hotel was watching his bedroom. He dropped out of high school & started a band with his brother (called Genge), and soon after met a very young Keiji Haino. In 1972, at age 17, he got hired by NHK TV to make a couple of youth-oriented programs, & soon met soundtrack composer Toru Takemitsu. Takemitsu hired the teenager to work on some pieces, and his recommendation nabbed Mako a recording contract. Most of Mako's early albums cut still, psychedelic un-music against plinky little tunes. This 2nd album has lots of spacy zither folk, some krautrocky plodding, & even a minute or two of faux Edda Dell'Orso. Tracklisting: Andromeda, Tundra, Silk Road, Woman In South Island, Pink Butch, Rock Baby in Meadow, Majorica Resistance Song, Cosmos Sunglasses, Sound Mother Earth.
