People have a hard time keeping up with Sun Ra releases, and it's understandable, cause there's a shitload. But man, they do not know the eyeball pops and jaw drops they could be in for. Sun Ra adds an electric guitarist to these Philly sessions- and the guy (who is only credited as 'Sly') must be a fan of Buddy Miles/Pete Cosey, as he really lets the gnarly bits & sharp knives fly. Lots of chunky rocksichord & moog keys from Ra himself, and threatening/loopy spoken lyrics. Dueling free saxes both with textures like torn bedsheets. There are a couple of sections that could be mistaken for a Hijokaidan record even. Tracklisting: Song No. 1, There Is a Change in the Air, The Antique Blacks, This Song is Dedicated to Nature's God, The Ridiculous I and the Cosmos Me, Would I for All That Were, Space is the Place, You Thought You Could Build a World Without Us.
