Ultimate in so many ways, Takashi Mizutani led a group out of Kyoto University that supported extreme politics and extreme sound & light as twin weapons. The band played during student occupations & protests. The Red Army the bass player belonged to was run by Fusako Shigenobu, aka 'the most feared female in the world'. And by all evidence, their distortion/volume so intense that the song forms had to be as simple as folk ballads just to be played. Sometimes relentless and sometimes stretched so slow that their powerful sound seems to float, the band's two sides are perfectly encapsulated by a single phrase in the liner notes (yes, there are some): "...mainlining an elegantly wasted take on two chord avant garde..." Originally released on Mizutani's own label (where it cost about 4 times what it does here). A different live show on each disc, and they're likely ones you don't have already, from '73, '74, '77 & '80 respectively.
