Never before issued tracks by what may well be the most untuned, untutored, and flat out flabbergasting band of all time. The King & his pals must've learned well from their time playing in the back of a Detroit bowling alley- as legend has it anyway, some think it's Cub Koda's band with everyone switching to an instrument they can't play. However it came about though- they swing like wrecking crane balls through your favorite late 50s hits. 'Hawaiian War Chant' is probably the one to beat, as it could easily be mistaken for the flailings of someone drowning in a bathtub rather than 'singing'. Ballads like 'This Time' are a close second though, as chords that were never meant to be born are held fast while the King himself splats sax honks in the wrong key. South Bay Surfers began playing oldies in small spots around California during the 90s. They're a tad more interested in something that approaches entertainment, but they do seem to be fun-havin' fellas who don't let a lack of skill, rehearsal, or even height hold 'em back.
