Brilliant series of softpop & popsike from both the US & UK. If it's fluffy, jolly, overly baroque, endlessly orchestrated, gooey-headed, maudlin, or just plain fey, then it's totally Fading Yellow. Some tracks are laughable, but all have choral cascades, toppling major 7th chords, ridiculous string arrangements, and everything else that's soft & sugary & soppingly sad. This volume concentrates on UK lp tracks, & has just a tiny bit of a folk bent. Tracklisting: Harvey Andrews-England My England, Jan & Lorraine-Bird of Passage, Raw-What To Do, Michael Blount-Acorn Street, Danny Kirwan-Lovely Days, Fuchia-Me and my Kite, PC Kent-After Dark, Vigrass & Osborne-Ballerina, Gothic Horizons-Thoughts, Marc Brierley-Today I Feel Like Leaving You, Storyteller-Alice Brown, Andy Roberts-I've Seen the Movie, Nadia Cattouse-All Around My Grandmother's Floor, Jan & Lorraine-Snow Roses, Evensong-The Smallest Man in the World, Trevor Billmuss-Sunday Afternoon in Belgrave Square, John Pantry-Long White Trail, Michael Blount-Ceaicles Micellaneous, Alan James Eastwood-Hymns for Today, Wizz Jones-One Grain of Sand, Tony Hazzard-Loudwater House.
