So many things get called disco that are really just techno or even highlife or something farther afield. Me, I want my disco to have a lot of white powder, roller skating, faker-than-fake strings and satin shorts. This set delivers those nicely, without including anything remotely approaching a K-tel hit. Lots of folks trying to be badass by way of excessive 4/4 hi-hats, harps indicating sunshiney bridges and funk breaks played on synth pads. Best lyrics are undoubtedly from 'Blow You Out Tonight', which attempts a Funkadelic chorus with the line "gonna blow you out & make you party", bringing several hilariously disgusting images to mind. Tracklisting: Jackie Stoudemire-Invisible Wind, Full Body-You Got Me Dancing, Js-When Did You Stop, Loi-Body Contact, Sanctuary-Disco Discouraged, Board of Directors-Hanging Tough, Project-Love Rescue, Truth-International Dancing, Park Avenue-Looking Ahead, Kocky-Just Keep on Dancing, Gloster Williams & Master Control-No Cross No Crown, Sir James Randolph-Sho Is Good, Hippolytes-Blow You Out Tonight, Larry Hart-Goin Up In Smoke, Hot Ice-Dancing Free, Ronnie Barron-I Can Give It To You, Phenomenal-One Two Three, Steven Abdul Kahn-Gotta Have Your Loving, Evans Pyramid-Dip Drop, Chailo-Let's Skate, Loveman Ronnie Stokes-Touch You Again, First Class-Candy.
